Mary Joy Alcantara is from Philippines, she was a swimmer in school & participated with regional and national swimming competitions. Her favorite stroke is Breaststroke and she race mostly over 50m, 100m & 200m distance. In 2002 she won Gold at the Women’s National Collegiate Athletic Association in 200m Breaststroke! Joy worked as a lifeguard/Swimming instructor in Doha from 2006 - 2011, as an assistant coach in a swim club in the Philippines from 2012-2017. A swimming instructor in Kuwait from 2017 - 2019 and a Senior Swimming Instructor in one of the biggest clubs here in Dubai from 2019 - 2020. Her dream is to build her own swimming club one day using all the experiences learnings and achievements - she hopes to motivate others to achieve in the sport and envoy it as much as she does.
